A new class of magic squares (M-matrices) is introduced, in which the primary construction tool is a geometric progression. Owing to the properties of solutions of a first-order difference equation, it becomes possible to construct a certain space of such matrices. Mathematical algorithms for constructing new classes of magic squares are presented, and some of their properties are investigated.
